How do you store you sand paper?

It sure seems to take up some space.
I've tried flat in a drawer, standing up, etc..

What works best for you?

I use those stackable in/ out boxes for a desk. I use a different shelf for every grit. Got about 6 or 7 shelves stacked up.

I hate rolled up sandpapers and they are most of the time like that when I buy them. I iron them first to make flat then I store in different cardboard boxes according to the grits....

I bought a plastic portable file cabinet and some of the hanging folders with the labels from Staples. It has a lid and the sand paper is always clean and organized.

Bruce, I think that's a darn good plan; I've been meaning to get a little file cabinet like that for some time.

Funny how we can drop $1000+ on a kiln or grinder and somehow procrastinate a $30 file cabinet... or is that just me?

It was only about $15 max.

I also store mine like Bruce does. I have a file drawer in one work bench that holds most of my sheet sandpaper. The hanging folders are labeled for quick retrieval. It is a lot handier than having them all in a stack as I had before. Some of the overflow is in boxes in the back of the drawer.
My belts are stored up high on a wall on 2 inch diameter pegs to avoid kinking. I retreive them with a stick with a wire hook. The excess are in a cabinet in their original boxes.

I do something like Bruce, although I use an old cooler (ice chest) for the box. That way the excessive ambient moisture of the tropics is kept away from the stuff!

I use something similar to this:

Hey, if anyone can't find room to store thier sandpaper, I've got plenty of space here for you to store it!! ;)

I just use a lever file with separating pages, punch the holes and file it the right place.

I have a three-drawer office organizer kind of thing. I wrote the grit on the tab on the front of each drawer. What's nice about this or a file cabinet is that it keeps the floating grit off the sandpaper so it doesn't become contaminated. I keep polishing compound in ziplock bags and cover my buffs for the same reason. Once a buffing wheel gets some errant grit in it, I've never been able to clean it out sufficiently. And those are expensive!

For sheet paper I use a plastic compartment folder I found at one of those office stores. It keeps the sheets separated and reasonably water resistant. Handy and cheap!
Just what I do,
Lynn

Right now I'm sort of in an advertising mood, but in my knife sharpener I just made, I have a door, and a compartment inside to fit a sharpie, sandpaper, and a sandpaper cleaner block. The space is not big enough to fit whole sheets of sandpaper, but if they are cut to fit the sharpener, it fits perfectly.
