Just like the title says, how do you store your knives?

Currently, all my knives are either in my pockets, on my table next to my bed, or in my safe. I'm looking for a better way to store and transport theme. I saw the knife case at Brigade Quartermasters, but they are sold out! Does anyone know about a similar product?

So, how do you store your collection?

I picked up a knife bag from Bladeart a couple of months ago. It has the ability to hold 20 folders with the extra insert. This "extra" insert comes with the bag! There are also three deep zippered pockets for some smaller fixed blades and my Dozier Tactical 6 goes there. This bag folds up and snaps across the front and has a carry handle plus shoulder strap. It is as well done a bag as I've seen, and a bargin for the price.

I don't see the bag on their website. Do they still offer the bag?

im2smrt4u try emailing ida tomorrow and see if they have any left. I don't remember ever seeing it posted I just happen to see a post by Larry saying that the bags were coming in so I ordered it sight unseen. The email is ida@bladeart.com

Play? Obviously, you haven't seen my knives.

I have seen some of your very nice knives, but surely you must have some that you use. Right...?

More than a few. But they're not stored; they're just laying all over the place.

When I am not using them, in their sheaths or holsters in the original bozes they came in. I usually wipe the blade down with a light coating of oil before storing. Then they sit on a shelf in a closet where all the other knives are kept. I am not the type to display my knives.

If I was to transport them, optimally I would probably get a decent bag of some sort. Probably something specially designed out of cordura and water resistant / proof with pockets and a hard bottom. However, with them rolled up in a beach or workout towel sitting in a gym bag or knapsack sufficed usually. The sheaths and holders did the rest.

Yeah - I have no class.

I like to display my knives and look at them
each day. So, I have one of those sunglass
display cases you see in stores. The display
case is three shelves high with plastic sides
and has a locked door on the back. I covered the
shelves with white velvet and display my custom
knives on the shelves. And, I have a spotlight
that shines on the shelves. Kind of cool and it
does help me enjoy the knives more than when I
use to just keep them in my safe. The case is
next to my sofa on an end table.

Kind of a neat display. I asked the saleperson
in the sunglass store if I could have the display
case when they were done with it and they gave it
to me. Cool case, and it says Oakley on the outside.

I originally stored them in there boxes, then I put them in those black plastic and glass display cases, now I keep my fixed blades in those and keep all my folders in knife rolls. I am going to build a huge wooden display case to hold all my folders some time in the near future. One that holds about 200 folders, then get little engraved plates with there names on them and stick them below each slot. I figure them they will all be keepers once I get them an engraved plate :)

Large fishing lure or hardware boxes, the clear ones. Also use an ammo can.

The BladeArt bags rock! I picked one up recently and they really are the best designed knife bag I've seen. Plenty of room for folders, larger pockets for fixed blades and even storage for 8 1/2x 11 documents. There's also a pen loop and a business card holder which is a nice touch. Very well thought out item.

Some are in the closet, a lot are laying around in the house and garage. There's always at least one in front of the TV, because I sharpen and stuff while watching the tube. Some of the nicer knives I've got in a homemade coffee table/shadowbox.

I use a Sack-ups knife roll. They are basically a cotton rectangle with sewn in pouches for 6, 10, 12, or 18 knives. You can roll it up and secure it with a string tie. They run about 10 bucks and work really well for stashing the EDC's.

Some are in a "Case" display case I bought on eBay last year, the ones I want to "play" with are on various display stands on top of the file cabinet in my office. The rest are stored in plastic storage drawers of various sizes I picked up at Wal Mart. The drawers are lined with thin foam rubber and are stacked on shelves in my office closet along with my reference and sharpening/repair supplies.

BTW - ALL my knives are recorded and cataloged, with pics, in a database program in the computer which I update regularly.

I used to keep them in my Bladeforums Knife bag, but I recently found out that the bags have become collectors items. Now I just toss my knives into a 5 Gal. bucket. :p

I store the ones I use in two knife rolls, a drawer (lined with felt), and a Brigade quartermasters case. The ones in my collection are in cases and stored in a box. I keep these in a room thats humdity, and temp. controlled. They also have either rennasainse (never could spell that!) wax, or tuf-glide protecting the blades.
