How do you store your knives?

I have one Spyderco Spyderpac small size (holds 18) hanging open in my closest for easy access when I want to pick a knife to carry. I keep everything else in a couple Maxpedition 12 knife cases in the safe. I will circulate knives in and out from the safe to the hanging Spyderpac from time to time. I'm not really worried about getting robbed, the chances are low and they are just knives that's what insurance is for.

Wow, thanks for all the ideas! I definitely check by harbor freight on the way home from work today. Also I didn't think about the pelican cases..

JOELSM, that chest is on point! Where did you find it?
Those prices though.. That would definitely set me back some cheese!

Ordered from AG Russell. It is pricey, but if you have a large collection well worth it IMHO. Those silverware boxes are a great idea too.

I keep mine in a lockable stack-on tool chest. Also works great for keeping a bunch of maintenance equipment in the top tray so pretty much everything is consolidated.

I have a small plastic box with a lid that I keep a few in that I'm EDCing, I rotate a few out every now and then. I like something big that can lock and keep most of the collection in one place, but I really like the smaller stackable cases listed above by a fellow forum member.

My father favors the Leghog approach of cigar boxes.

I keep my extras on a restaurant kitchen shelf, in my gear closet.

If I need to transport all of them, they go into ammo cans. The ones that won't fit, they get thrown into my solid metal (I think it's thick aluminum) footlocker.

When I am around my house, often in a walnut display case on the wall. When I am not, the pricier stuff lives in a TL-30 high-security composite-clad safe with a 2 hour 1850F fire rating that weighs more than many vehicles.

I have used something similar to your original post.

Grizzly H7994 8 Drawer Storage Cabinet - A drawer can store 5 Buck Vantage or 7 BM Mini Grip....

When that space was full, I store some in an craftsman 4 drawer tool box w/ lock

And when that ran out, I got United Cutlery UC1338 Pocket Knife Storage Case, Large. This was ok with poor execution. Knives fit but you definitely can't have a knife in every slot unless they are really small.

When that filled up, I posted a bunch of knives for sale.

Pelican case 1450. They come with a "pick and pluck" system so you can set it up however you like. Knives don't move once it's closed. I wouldn't use anything else.

I have a small collection so I use this kobalt tool box.

I keep all my sharpening and maintenance stuff in the top part. The shallow drawer holds all my folders and the deeper bottom drawer has a couple sets of throwing knives and all the boxes for my folders. There's plenty of room for my collection to grow but I'm not really into this for collecting. I actually just sold 5 inexpensive knives that don't get carried to pay for one expensive knife that will get carried.

I had a cool looking jewelry box that I kept them in, but then my kids started taking interest in my knives so I needed something that will lock.
