How Do You Store Your Knives

Just plastic shoe boxes with those snap on lids. Autos open, and most unboxed knives wrapped in wax paper. In a fairly low humidity home. Some brass seems to always get verdigris, and every now and again some piece of carbon steel will rust, but it's surrounded with pounds of steel that didn't. Go figure, I do wipe them all down every year or two...

That would be my week away travel box for the knives I'm taking with....😡😉

I have a Gerstner I bought at Blade about fifteen years ago, that $350.00 doesn’t sound so bad now as expensive as they’ve become. I’ve never had anything rust in it. It’s the 1805 which is similar to the Orville Wright Gerstner.

Bob Rufus1949 Rufus1949 - do you keep your empty boxes and tubes? I keep all empty boxes and tubes in a roll-away toolbox in my shop along with boxes and tubes with knives still in them.
Hi Ed,
Yes I keep all tubes, boxes and paperwork in a large plastic tub with desiccant packets. My knives are in drawers, in my cabinets.
Like you, I am not one who can say new in tube. I carry them all and use as needed.

Didn't you like to store one on your shed roof?😁

Yes I did. Still have it and use it.

I've got some folding, padded bags in my gun safe, a couple of MOLLE panel screwed into the door of my gun safe for folders (works great), and then a couple of my large work bench drawers with knives/machetes/axes unceremoniously stacked in.

It’s basically a poorly organized mess! 🤣
