How do you store your knives?

No one uses the Sack-Ups ?
I use Sack-ups for my Buck 110/112 collection. Most of my knives are all over the house. :D Closets, drawers, truck and my shop. I should organize them better.

All over my desk, all over the place, in no organized mannar whatsoever.

I really should get some sort of case or dedicate a drawer for it or something.

I've got a large Tupperware style box with a moisture absorber inside for the users not in use. 'Safe Queens' or whatever you call 'em live in a separate box under my desk. They are duplicates so they never come out.

Most of them I store on my person, they rarely leave my belt, coat, or jean pockets. When I take my jeans off at night my knives stay there or are transfered to the pants I'll wear tomorrow. As for the other knives I have, usually they sleep in my sock drawer.

Same as. I've learned to keep all my stuff together and if there is a 'situation' at night (that requires clothes) I can just grab and put on those pants and I have my basic EDC (110, wallet, keys with accessories, cash) without having to gather it up.
ALL my knives are, or have been, users to varying degrees. They are mostly in a large wooden cigar box (folders) and sheath knives/fixed blades are in a larger case in the closet. Nothing fancy. Just convenient.

:D My nicer ones sleep in a Benchmade attache. My lesser (but still loved) ones live in sack-ups in a medium trail bag in my closet. EDCs of the week hang out in my pocket or on my dresser or on my computer desk. I am looking out for a nice old Gerstner tool chest for display/storage that would stand in the corner of my room.:cool:

In an Industrial Craftsman Rollaway, bolted to the studs in the wall for security.

Mine are all within a locked steamer trunk. Some are in their sheaths; some are in sack-ups; some are in the original boxes; some are wrapped in paper towels or bubble-wrap...

I prefer to keep them in the original packaging when possible.

   I have seen a little bit of heaven; I can pass on happy now! You could watch TV and sleep in there too. Nice website too. Thanks for putting things into perspective for me Chefget!:D

Excellent idea with the safe Michael. Most peoples' knives aren't as valuable as your's, but until something happens you can't believe the amount of time, money, and ass-pain necessary to replace just a dozen factory knives.

As far as oil on the blades, I use RustFree from AG Russell. Rust Free is a silicone treatment. Mineral oil gets mentioned around here the most.

Best Wishes,
Bob

Who wants a house when you can have knives?
I do the same as Michael(Chefget) though my safe isnt as large or heavy, I have it bolted to wall studs in a closet.

One word of caution about dessicants if you use them to keep your knives dry. Make sure whatever you use has air holes for the moisture the dessicants collect to evaporate, otherwise they just hold the loisture in there and that's worse. Chuck Gollnick tells a story of a former member here who locked his expensive knives in an airtight case with dessicants for a year while he went away. When he opened it all his knives had rusted.

They go wherever they end up. I always find a knife somewhere. My EDC is always clipped to my wallet when I get in for the night, that way I don't forget it the next morning.

I keep mine in a couple of Gerstners. All are in rotation!!
The guys with Sebenzas never take them off, so no need to display them.

Not everyone with a Sebenza only EDCs a Sebenza. My Sebenza seems just as much time in storage as any of my other folders.

Two knife rolls, one small one for my really nice gentleman folders that don't see the light of day, a much larger knife roll for my smaller tacticals and regular sized tacticals. For my bigger folders and tacticals, I leave them in a cloth sheath, guess I shouldn't be doing that. For the fixed blades, I leave them in the sheath, I have an ammo crate (not really used for ammo, got it as a gag gift, they bought it at MJDesigns art store, pretty neat though, keep my air rifles in the other one). I've got all of my work knives stored all over the place.

All my expensive stuff goes in gun safes.

EDCs stay out on a hutch in the living room.

Productions and cheaper stuff stays on shelves locked in the gun room.
