How do you tell a HH FSH from a FSH?

I'm not understanding this comment, are you saying that I tried to take advantage of the situation? How is there money made or loss in any way?

Sorry Liu Kang, just having fun. That statement is the title of chapter 4 in
"The Busse Used Dealers Guide'.;)

If the one that you sold was 0.25" or even 0.27 and flat ground, then it wasn't really a HH FSH. So it sounds like you did the right thing by taking care of your customer.

Fit can be subtle. The original issue FSH were 0.25", and mostly flat gound, but with a slight convex. These new generation FSH, at 0.27" flat ground may be a different thickness at half-height on the blade, ie a different profile. Also, most people report that the Buy Brown sheaths use more tension on the blade itself than some other sheath do, so fit is more critical in that case.

I could not have said it better myself, except for the last part.

When a blade has a thickness difference of .02" if you make the sheath fit both the smaller knife will rattle around in the sheath.

Also a convex grind as apposed to a flat grind makes a large difference

My old say 4 or 5 years ago sheaths may be a bit snugger than my newer ones, if anyone ever had a problem I would make it right. My sheaths are molded differently now & all knives are taped to were the tension is on the handle more than the blade.

Sheath making for me has been a growing/learning proscess for me over the 10 years I have been doing it. Listening to customer suggestions & experimenting with ideas I have.

Again no offense meant just clarifying. :)

No David, you were a great help and it is an excellent sheath. I love your stuff and appriciate the sheath a bit more when I know you made it.

I didn't know that, thanks.
