How Do You Tell Someone Their Knife Is Crappy?

"How do you tell someone their knife is crappy?"

I wouldn't, I'm a firm believer that your best knife, is the one in your pocket, when you need it.

When carrying a knife becomes an integral part of your daily carry - then finding sites like this, gaining a little more knowledge ,then spending a few more bills on something better, seems to be the natural progression. What comes later is borderline "steel addiction".

Saying that, a crappy knife will always be crappy, but a good one will always serve you well.

There's a lot of great(& not so great) responses here.

Back in the 90's I used to buy from BudK & that HSN knife show.I had piles of junk.I wish someone would have pointed me in the right direction back then.I could've taken the harshest criticism,if it would've shown me I was buying crap.Thing is,I had no idea.

As far as telling someone their knife is crappy......... usually that is a waste of breath.

IF they are a "knife person" they would not have to ask in most all cases.

IF they have to ask..... the answer will just insult them. :D

It's kinda like "Do these pants make my ass look fat?"....dare you say yes?Not me!:D

Don't try to play the one up game...
Just demo or ask them, has it been performing as you wanted?
