How do you tie your lanyard?

I have found that using a "scaffold" knot works great for a Sebenza FOB but, is of little use on a fixed blade.

Maybe you can help with my dilema of the moment. I am looking for a knot that looks similar to a hangmans noose or scaffold knot but, doesn't slip to snug the knot against the knife. Specifically, I am trying to tie a knot that leaves room for my hand to slip into the loop without risk of the lanyard slipping to either open up or close down on my hand.

Thanks for your help!
Sid

Sid, I'm not sure how much loop you want, but why not try this: tie that hangman's noose the way it is on the Sebenza, but leave two very long lines coming out the end. Now, tie a regular knot or a figure eight in those long lines right at the end of the hangman's noose, to keep it from slipping. Then, you can tie any kind of useful or decorative knot at the far end of the lines, to make a loop for your wrist. You could even slip beads in between knots at the end, for more decoration and to get a better grip.

That "Ashley Book of Knots" is not for the faint of heart

Simple me, go into the library, find the book, get the knot and, on my way in 30 minutes.....After a few hours I decided I had a lot to learn.

Still looking for the right knot,
Sid

Sid; let me clarify your quest. Are you looking for a knot which has a permanent loop, or do you want one which will snug up tight as a fob, yet let you form a loop, and not have the loop tighten on your hand?

The first is easily accomplished. I am not sure about the second. Walt
