How do you use your disc grinder?

The discs are steel, made by R. W. Wilson (west virginia) Call and tell him the shaft size and he will
make the disc just a hair under close to the end. This calls for tapping the disc on the last few thou.
with a rawhide mallett. Truest running discs I ever used, the back angle is great for any kind of
knifemaking but exels for making folders. About $125 or so per disc.

For you guys flattening tangs, do you slow the disc way down for this? I have a one speed (fast) disc sander and I think I could get a flatter piece on a my hollow ground wheel.

I found a footswitch helped me.

Put the material on the disc, then start with the footswitch no bounce or misgrinds.

Ken the drop away table is very cool I might have to try making one myself and thanks for the pictures .
Ryan for the speed, on the few I have used it on so far, I have turned the speed way down, the foot switch sound like a good idea. I don't have enough experience using it yet but turning down the speed has helped a lot I'm not making as many big ooopses.
Thanks for all the great info

Yes I did, they're kind of a copy of the one Terry Davis uses. The cool thing is I usually have to only
loosen the left allen bolt and they're out of the way. Can get them dead square in seconds. The
mount is directley to the "C" face motor. The side arms are slotted for quick in&out.

That's awesome and exactly what I need. Thanks for the detailed pics & info.
