How do you use your knives?

All the ones on your list. Plus cutting down trees, checking depth of cracks in logs (work related), chopping off branches, cleaning fish.

I use mine for some of the items you listed - mostly opening packages, mail, yard work related and handy-man or honey-do related things.

I also have the need to fondle and play with them, esp while watching tv.

I use my knife for all of the above and then sit down and make my dinner with it. Everyone at work says i'm going to get sick from that but what ever.

Well.... which knives?

Clearing brush
Chopping wood
Scraping my heels
Sharpening carpentry pencils
Cutting paper
Opening mail
Cutting rope and string
Opening boxes, packages
Food prep
SD
Trimming pipe
Cutting leather
Opening feed bags
Marking lumber for carpentry

A good number of those from the original post. Plus various other tasks, like opening packages, trimming insultation...

My wife has absconded with one of my Moras, and it is now her "weatherstripping cutting" knife. She loves it. :D

-opening/flattening boxes at work
-opening packages and those damn clamshell things
-opening mail
-trimming my fingernails
-shaving my left arm :)
-toothpick
-yard tool
-hammer/screwdriver/small prybar (only with old knives that have already survived -this!)
-enjoyment
-something to keep my hands busy
-topic of conversation
-focus of my addiction

Yes! same here, and on the very rare occasion to intimidate. :D

All the above. Well never carry a knife for SD, I have no "real" training so I would probably get cut up real bad. O-yeah never cut any wieners either.

"focus of my addiction"-hawaiianhawk
+1 on that! Well said. All other uses are secondary, and just handy excuses to justify another purchase!
