How do you use your knives?

Cutting boxes open, food prep, prying, outdoor/camping use like batoning wood, making fuzz sticks, firemaking, and skinning game.

Just off the top of my head: Opening boxes, letters, cutting plastic straps, hang nails, loose threads, sharpening pencils, and food prep.

Since I do all the cooking at our house.( I am retire the wife is not yet), 90 percent of my knife use is food prep. Followed by

Fishing
Hunting
Camp cooking
Home repairs
Opening more knives
Working on walking sticks

Most other wood working is done with the Silky and Estwing.

ill be honest..i have ALOT of knives that i bought to sit on a shelf..cause to me they are beautiful I also have ALOT MORE that i use regularily and hard. but i love displaying my knives...

Usually opening and collapsing boxes / crates, but I also use them for food prep, splinter removal, prying, opening packages, opening canned goods (very rarely), opening letters, trimming threads, as hammers, opening bottles...

None of this self-defense nonsense for my knives, I'm afraid. For that, a real man uses his bear hands :)

+1 cutting things. When using it to cut leftover steak or chicken for lunch at the office, people think it's not clean. I tell them I am more certain about where my knife has been than i am about my wife.

Like they cheated on me, stole my money -kind of did, and called me a bad name lol.

Actually my knives have kind of fallen into roles. For instance, I use my thinned out Zing for touching up the side burns, cardboard duty, opening up MRE's or fine delicate work. I use my ZT 0200/Boker Kalashnikov 101 trimming limbs -the tree variety lol, medium prying -like carpet tack strips, starting slits in tin sheets. Basically tough beater chores... (ahh and the Cara Cara too) I use my Emerson P-Sark/Spyderco Crossbill for ropes, hoses, upholstery, landscaping felt, carpet or boxes as they cut the best for those tasks. *I like when the old ball n chain says she needs me to cut some jeans into shorts and I think to myself "Oh, that's a Fehrman Extreme Judgment job!" hahaha.

As for the fixed, I'm actually about to pull the hammer on a Fehrman Last Chance tonight so that will replace my BK2 for a camp knife (in fact, I'm thinking about giving it away here) Use the Extreme Judgment, RTAK II or Kershaw Outkast for chopping. As for the rest of my knives, I'm wanting to start to give them away and start making my own and buying a few customs that I really want.

I mostly use mine to cut stuff and stab things. But sometimes to pry, dig, chop, or scrape.

I use my blades for the following things...

Kitchen Food Prep
Hunting
Fishing
Camping
Topic of coversation
And to cut things that need cutting..
