Thx Patrice... but
How does it drill?
How does it grind?
HT and finish questions were answered by the search I did earlier
Have found 1095 can be a bear to drill sometimes
It can be a bitch to drill depending on the state it was left in after the last heat process. Mill run seems to drill ok but it is possible to hit hard spots/carbide pockets. If it has been forged then an anneal is a good idea. Sub-critical anneal also seems to work well for machining purposes with this steel.
Grinding before HT is typical but after HT it may remind you a little of 3v, abrasives just don't want to engage the way you might expect.
