how does mora's tri flex steel preform

I like it. I had a Craftsman tri flex that was awesome. I think my wife snagged it. No harder to sharpen than the regular carbon models, I didn't notice any great difrence in edge holding . But I did like it and used it regularly. I was under the impression that is was supposed to be tougher, but I could be mistaken.

thanks for the input man i like it already:D

Mine rusts/spots pretty easily, but no worse than any other carbon steel. I haven't cut enough yet to judge the edge holding, but I'm hoping it's better, since it's harder.

It is my favorite of all the Mora steels. I like them so much I had OnScene make me a kydex sheath for them. Very tough and takes a great edge. I always keep a spare as it seems I end up giving one away because when one of my friends sees me using it they end up wanting it.

Mine is sharp, holds an edge nicely and is developing a light patina, but I try to wipe it down after use so I don't see any rust.

It's a great cutter but I'm not one to beat my knives into submission so I can't really tell if it holds up like many other knives, but bottom line, it's a great bargain.

the steel is pretty good, although it does rust. really tough stuff and sharpens pretty easily. i made a leather sheath for mine. i also really like the handle; extremely comfortable.

I haven't noticed much performance difference between the triflex and the standard carbon, I have a 740 and a 780. The triflex is noticeably thicker, I like that:)

I have triflex and a Kostal Hi Carbon. I would give the nod to the Kostal in terms of sharpness but only just. They're a bit harder to sharpen than some other knives but take a wicked edge. The wide scandi grind helps keep the angle. Usual care rules apply if you don't want the blade to stain/rust.

The triflex blade is thicker and the handle beefier. I use it more in the woods and and go to a Clipper in the kitchen.--KV
