how does one dispose of a knife that is broken? i mean where does one take it... i doubt one just throws the knife in the trashcan...

meh, i'll pass...lol

take a file or hammer to the edge and then wrap it duct tape and toss it.

The UN usually has a weapons decommissioning section in a Peace Keeping Force.
Apply there.

Turn it in at your local Police Precinct. They'll appreciate a concerned citizen like yourself.

I think my parrot is planning on opening a knife disposal service.

Then again, it could have been the people on Venus who communicate with me me via my watch.

I get so confused these days.

I still can't believe I read that question then opened the thread.... I'm really slipping, I think I need to go take a pill.:o

I personally build a little form out of 1/4" poplar and then encase the knife in quickrete. makes a lovely garden stone.

Why chuck a knife? Once the life of a knife has been used up for its intened purpose, then it can be used for all kinds of other aplications like digging weeds out of the garden, spreading tar, or a general use scraper.

I live in the UK and have the same problem. I e-mailed the local police station recently and they suggested I wrap it up well and take it to the police station and they would ensure it was disposed of safely.
