How Does the B11 Compare To The 1311 In chopping ?

The B13 has much more forward weight. It will certainly hit harder. The B11 is a much more balanced knife and much faster in the hand. I prefer the B11, but I think the B13 will edge it out. But I have not compared them. I have a B11 but have not used it yet. I did use the B13.

I do like the B11 a lot and wanted to try the 1311 but if it is really close no need to try the 1311.

The B11 is very handy and well balanced and a real keeper. The B11 is just so comfortable in the hand.

Faster swing recovery with the B11, more oomph with the 1311. End result is similar for me in terms of time and energy expended for work achieved on light brush. Plus the thicker tang of the B11 under the Resiprene seems easier on my palm. B11 is a whack-whack-whack rhythm. 1311 more like whack-swing-whack-swing-whack, with the "swing" being backswing. I thought the 1311 might displace my B11 because it's thinner and longer (and develops more momentum), so I thought it would "cut better", but as Cobalt says, the B11 is noticeably faster. And at a full .25" thick, it generates impressive force. I use both, but find I usually choose the B11.

Can't go wrong with either choice...but I love the B11...

just seems to be noticeably lighter in hand-- which it should be, right? However, it seems an almost quantum jump ahead in the agility category to me, YMMV.

Alfred <above> stated it very, very well...so I concur.

Plus the B11 is INFI-- 'nuff said there.

OTOH, I'm trying to acquire my SECOND 1311-- that's saying something also, hahahaha!

Now refer back to my first line, lather, rinse, repeat... ;)

Worth noting. I don't baby either, and they have the same warranty, so no worries either way. But I've heard of no cases of major damage experienced by B11 users. Can't say the same about 1311's.

Thank You, just what I was hoping to hear.

In my experience, the 1311 chopped better and had less vibration when battoning.
But the B11 being INFI is more reliable, with a little less performance.

Had both and now I only have the 1311. Won hands down in chopping and feel for me. Plus the price to performance ratio with the 1311 is unbeatable.

Had 1311 and having a B11;
1311 for chopping (i reckon there are plenty of choices out there).

Having handled ASHBM, Steel Heart, NMFBM, BWM and B11, i will still pick a B11 for an all-rounder.

the B11 is still one of my all time favorite choppers/camp blades. The 1311 definitely beats it in chopping capabilities though. I wouldn't want to give up either one honestly.

And I got a combat grade B13 that hopefully I'll be dinged for in the very near future lol.
