How does the blade hold up to hard use s30v and D2?. Ive never held one let alone used one.
I always read good things about the lock and have heard its a thin blade which is why im asking this question.
Ive a lot of blades in s30v and like the steel and no what to expect from it i dont when it comes to D2 how ever.
Beign a thin blade has anyone had any problems with the tip snapping or large chips etc?.
By hard use i mean would you consider it alongside other folders that are cosidered as hard use knives?.

The Paramilitary is a tough little knife. It will stand up to hard use, so long as your definition of "hard use" does not include heavy prying or other abuse. You wouldn't want to chop concrete with it, but it will stand up to any realistic chore you set it to.

It's actually made from fairly thick stock, but is full-flat ground, so it seems thin. It is one of the all-around best knives on the market, IMO, regardless of price. The lock is rock-solid, the materials and workmanship are absolutely first-rate. Mine came sharp as a scalpel right out of the box, literally as sharp as an X-acto blade (I tested) and has kept that edge remarkably well.

I doubt the average user would be able to tell the difference between the S30V and D2 versions in use. The S30V has better corrosion resistance, whereas the D2 may be a bit tougher. I have the S30V version, and I couldn't be happier with it.

You can't go wrong with a Paramilitary. It's one of the very best models from the very best folding knife maker, period.

The greatest spyderco ever made... besides the ATR and Lil temp...
The compression lock is Awesome!......

I agree with all of the above. The Para-Military is an incredibly well made knife, with a lock you can have confidence in and a handle that fits the hand perfectly. It's all good.

I love the Para, but it really depends on what you consider "hard use". I can't think of any D2 folders that would clearly out perform it in durability, so I don't see why it would be a concern compared to other folders.

The Paramilitary is my favourite Spyderco, and is my EDC folder. It feels great in-hand and has one of the best locking mechanisms available. If my main intent was a lot of prying I would carry something else though (the point is quite fine).

Hard use, yes!
You have a thick blade for a knife this short (5/32"), flat ground, so it's very strong. The BEST lock you can get. Put that with the G10 scales and you get a real tough user. You go!

the para is a great tough as nails folder ,,feels great in the hand,,you wont be dissapointed

I think i m gonna get one i bought a 615 the other week and while a perfect knife were i live i need a knife i can clean easy and take apart as all it does is rain hear so im mostly worried about internal corosion on its parts if i find it hard to clean.Idealy i want a knife i can clean and dry inside out without to much trouble.
I will be using it mostly in the woods and about the hardest thing it would do is stabbing the knife into wood which has broke tips on my knifes in the past but they were not as tough as S30V.
