I've been collecting knives for about a year now and I can already tell that a second mortage will be necessary to support my new habit.:D First, it was just 50 bucks here and there so carrying the knife was no big deal, but now I want 500 dollar knives. So,,How expensive is your edc?

Thanks,
Phillip

Veey good question. Answer ?
Depends on what the person feels comfortable with. I carry only customs so range can be from a $ 300 Elishwitz to a $1200 or so Emerson CQC6. I am comfortable to carry either and for that matter any customs i own. If you spend the money, why not enjoy it by carrying it.

For every day use I keep it under the $500.00 level.

Good Lord, did I just say that I carry a five hundred dollar knife! It's to late for me, but for God's sake, save yourselves! Stop coming to these websites, stop buying magazines, only go to the brick and mortar knife shops when you are holiday shopping and just can't afford to buy yourself anything! Run! Run and never look back!

I have approx. 12 - 15 EDC's. . . Of course, I don't carry them all at once. . . :( I live by a "EDC Rotation Plan." lol

My EDC's consist of production's, custom's and handmades. My EDC's range from $100 and peak out at $600. . .

I have two small "gentlemen" type folders that I carry on special occasions (when in my Mess Dress uniform or a suit). . . One cost me $750 and the other was $1500.

Don't worry about what the cost of my EDC's were ~ I just enjoy the pleasure of tote'n some very cool and special blades ! ;)

*note: edit due to poor spelling*

I have a TNT by Tom Mayo...650.00 , its a large folder, Every Day Carry since I picked it up in April...and I just don't carry it...it gets used alot:)

I agree with tattoo; much enjoyment can be derived from carrying a coveted high-dollar custom.
Here's my new Ryan Biohazard M1, and I carry it everywhere, every single day. This is the one piece in my collection that never falls out of rotation. It's a constant. :)

I carry every knife I buy, including my MT Nemmie. I know the knife will outlast me, and someone else will enjoy it at my expense, so I'm going to make sure that I enjoy all of my knives while I have them.

My 2 daily EDC knives are my REKAT Sifu and Carnivour Cub. I would figure that I have about $220 into these two folders, so I guess that makes me a cheap bastid.:D.

I don't have a whole slew of customs as yet, but the ones that I do have, I have no hesitation to carry. A couple of Allen Elishewitz customs, Korth Cutlery (Lala Brothers), Chris Reeve (custom in my book).

If I'm afraid to carry it, I don't buy it. That's just my carry philosophy. Others may have differing opinions. If there is one thing I have learned in about 8 months on this forum, it is that there are as many opinions (good ones, too) as there are forum members. All have valid points.

My regular EDCs cost $550.00 and $595.00(US not Canadian) and I have no problem with that. If I was going to worry about carrying them I would not have bought them.

I have an Ed Fowler Pronghorn on order that will probably cost me over $1000.00 and it will be used a lot.

well i carry my pat crawford ti frame kasper($425) all the time, have it clipped on right now as a matter of fact, i usually rotate a second knife (BM AFCK< REKAT SIFU,BM leopard, etc) and in the winter carry a sheath knife concealed under a jacket - but no i dont feel funny carrying mine, i take care of stuff, and dont drop it, etc, but i enjoy it - same reason i wear a rolex........

My current EDC is a medium Mayo TnT - $500.

I alternate it with my Lala-bros (Korth) Fox during the week (although the Fox hasn't actually seen daylight much lately -- hard to beat the Tnt). On the weekends I grab either my Obenauf model 1 or Kershaw Boa.

I'm thinking that $500-$600 number is "magical" as far as EDC. More than that is kinda kinda scary.

The most expensive knife I carry is the most expensive knife I own, but that's a LCC DA ~ $210. I do carry multiple knives though. Today I carried $465 worth of cutlery. If I had one knife that cost me that much or more, I'm not sure whether or not I'd carry it. I probably would. :)

If I own it, I will carry/use it. That said I don't have any very expensive knives. I can't afford them.

My Emerson Commander is the most expensive knife I carry on a regular basis. It is in my right front pocket everyday, and a couple of Spyderco's as well.

I don't "collect". I buy knives for use, and my most expensive knife at the moment is Spyderco Police ss. With my current income, buying anything more expensive and carrying it around would be insane.

Having said that, if I ever get rich I'll buy a dozen solid gold diamond studded Sebenzas (or whatever happens to be #1 knife in the world then) and post pictures to BF just to piss you guys off :p

My most expensive and only EDC is a Florida terminator I paid 15 bucks for. Anyone feel sorry enough to mail me out a Sebenza?.....wolf:(

If you pull out your self defense knife, and it attracts more muggers then it repells, then you are carrying too much knife. Carry the best knife you can, but, save the mega-dollar folders for upscale parties.

The most expensive I carry so far, is the most expensive I own...
Spyderco Wegner jr #161, $150canadian

back in march, I thought I was crazy for carrying the Tufram Cricket I bought for $110.

total in pockets right now:
Wegner jr, 150
tufram cricket, 110
ss dragonfly, 90
delica, 80
multi-tool(POS), 20
TOTAL VALUE: $450 canadian... soon replacing the delica with a $130 Calypso jr lt... then it'll be $500...

if I buy it, I use it.
