No shackles. I can turn it off easily. I, and the cartoon, use the cellphone as a metaphor for the intrusiveness of modern life, and the value of walking away occasionally.

Amen Esav, amen . . . I can still remember when my father owned & ran a 350+ acre farm, a home building business, raised 3 children, and all without a cell phone, fax, computer, GPS, Blackberry, etc. Sometimes I really wonder what all this "progress" has cost us . . . Please no comments, not wanting to start a debate, just a great cartoon with a meaning only a few will understand.
