How fast does your "high" wear off...?

It might just be me but I get a tiny rush everytime I see a package on my front porch.

If it is an EDC, something from the pocket/belt must go to yield space for the newcomer.

If it's an utility I bring it to the back yard and chop away.

But how long does your high last before you hop on the internet to look for your next score?


Mine lasts about a week plus/minus a few days...
 
same here until i start modding it to better suit my needs, then pending on how long i need to field test etc about a month total
 
Depends on what it was, how much I wanted, How long I've been waiting to get it, etc. My highs can last anywhere from a few days to a few months :D
 
About a week or so after I've received my Yuna Mini Hard 2, I'm already looking at Warren Thomas' offerings.

And I'm sure after that I'll be looking at CPM Rex 121. And after that I'll be looking for a lightsaber. When I'm satisfied with the number of cars I've sheared in half I'm sure I'll be looking for "The Subtle Knife" so I can cut holes between dimensions. And there will surely be another one after that:D.
 
I'm on a two week high after getting my BK-2 and Rat 1,they're both to the right of my mouse and every 1/2 hour or so I pull one out and play with it.Kind of like being 13 again.:D
 
The high usually lasts a few days and then if I have money I'll order something new. :p Usually a Knife or flashlight.
 
It depends on how pleased I am with the item after I get it. Sometimes it only lasts for mere minutes, at best a couple weeks. The hunting and researching then the waiting for the item to arrive is usually much for exciting...
 
from minutes to months...been edc my zt for over a year,still makes me happy and not thought about replacing it....thats cool to me
 
I don't think my "high" will ever wear off with any of my small reg. sebbies, especially since I get to use and fondle them everyday, each day it's a new high...
 
Sadly, I've been addicted so long that I only buy to stay even, to keep from getting sick. I don't get the "high" anymore. It's the progression of the disease ya know?

Actually, I get the high whenever I pull out my knives (and guns) and mess around with em. They're the gifts that keep on giving! :D
 
I hate to say that my high lasts for a very short time. Usually less than 24 hours. Sometimes I'll be looking for something new as soon as I put the one I just received in my pocket.
 
I generally find that the length of my "high" is proportional to the amount time it took to purchase the knife along with the time it took for it to arrive... Also the price I paid :p
 
I receive packages several times a week, every week. But, yes, I still get a bit excited when I receive something just like when I was a kid.
 
Sadly, within a few minutes of opening the box. But I don't buy for the high--I buy because I am looking for the one (or two or three... :p)
 
Most of my sharp pointies I get out of curiosity and comes with just a buzz, the high comes when I get them in hand. For some the buzz turns to a high, and the high never wears off, others are just a buzz kill.
 
Well, after a couple of years i must say, it´s periodically every spring and autumn, i tend to look for something new or have to change something on the knives a have. Summer and winter is a relative calm time. Interesting, but that´s how it is.
 
Like others have said, it varies. Just got my first Spyderco yesterday, a Manix 2. Debating sellin it cause its moonglow so no play time yet. The longer it sits in the box the more I want to keep it.

It usually lasts for quite some time and I just rotate through.

Hell, my wife makes fun of me for it. She says any time the UPS man shows up I revert back to being 10 again...
 
If I don't love it, I sell it. Some blades have only made it overnight before being listed. My Busse B11 and my Lone Wolf T2 make me smile every time I look at them.
