I had a customer come in with a broken bit since he tried to stab a hole in canvas and it snapped in half. The steel was all jagged and flaking at the break. Does leatherman really cheap out on their blades like this?
I've used mine as an awl many times, on material harder the canvas (like sheetrock) and it's held up very well. No problem. I guess as with anything, occasionally you'll get a lemon, or a dud. Mine is still hanging tough.
