how hard do you treat your springs???

I have almost finished somthing out of 01 and am thinking of making a pocketknife out of D2 or 440c (or maybe even ATS 34.
What hardness should i get the springs treated too???any other tips for making pocketknives??

42-45 is government specs on most springs.
If you go much higher you will get stress build up over time.
