Currently EDCing the Spyderco Tenacious which weighs in at four ounces. This is the maximum that I will carry.

For me, it varies depending on the type of carry (in pocket vs clip vs sheath) and what type of pants I am wearing.

At work - with Dockers or dress pants I try to keep it under 4 oz. If I am wearing jeans and using a pocket clip then I will go up to 8 oz.

In a sheath - unlimited within reason depending on what I am needing that day.

BM 610, 7.7 oz. or a Leatherman Charge, 8.5 oz. Lightest knife I EDC is 5.9 oz., which is actually the lightest knife I own.

My 2 most carried EDC knives are the Kershaw OD-1 and Skyline. The OD-1 is 3.4oz (96g) and the Skyline is a nice and light 2.3oz (65g) which practically disappears in my pocket.

Depends on the day... my Spyderco Kopa is 2.5 oz

My Bark River Pro Scalpel II is 2.4... but I dunno how much the sheath adds.

1.4 oz or so for my Flash 1, and 2.5 for my Boker SubClaw. So that's around 4 oz max for both.

I'm really into the small, concealed, lightweight EDCs.

My lightest is my JYDII at 5.8 ounces, and my heaviest is my Strider AR at 8.8 ounces. Normal carry as of late has been either my ZT0200 or ZT0500 at 7.7 ounces and 6.8 ounces respectively. Btw, I like heavy!

I carry Persian, 5.3 oz and Caly3, 3 oz, few day a week I am adding Kopa, which is 2.5 oz. Also I have Novatac, 3.1 oz in the same pocket. Light weight never was a big plus for me.

My Rat-1 folder tips the scales at 5 oz. That's the absolute max weight I feel comfortable with for an EDC. My Pacific Salt is damn near perfect at 3 ozs. Not to shabby for a knife of its size.

As a city slicker and EDC gadget freak, weight is the primary concern for me. I wear dress pants at work and I carry the folder in pocket (not clipped), so maximum weight for me is 3 oz. It's Benchmade Ally (2.9 oz). I know, not a fancy one, but it's the lightest folder with glass breaker available. A Leatherman Squirt P4 (2 oz) lives in my watch pocket, and a Vic Bantam (1 oz) in the left or back pocket.

On weekends when wearing jeans and doing outdoor stuff, I just attach a Leatherman Wave (8.5 oz  ) to my belt.

It really depends on:

1. What kind of pants I have on
2. The pocket clip
3. How the knife rides in pocket

Depending on the above three I might find a 6 oz knife just fine or a 5 oz knife to heavy.

Minigrip 2.56oz

Leek 4.1oz

Skeletool 5.0oz

Victorinox tinker 1.92oz

spyderco jester 0.6 oz

prefered range for EDC is for main blade 2-3 for light task 3-5.5 for heavier tasks
(i live in a city so there arent many occasions for real heavy duty use

Depends on what I am doing and what knife I feel like carrying.

Used to carry a 110 in my front pocket when I had need of it. That's about half a pound.
