How high is your buffer?

Mine's about the same height. As I'm thinking about it, higher is probably better, as you're less likely to get the blade up into the danger zone. I haven't had any accidents yet, and maybe this is part of the reason. (I'm doomed now...)

I put mine so the arbor is at the same height as my elbows...

which oddly enough is just a bit (2") higher than my belly button.

I feel like this gives me a natural posture when working on any of my wheels.

Elbow height here, too. With the grinder turned around backwards so I can work on the top of the wheel.

i am at eye level ish (ok maybe 5 foot high)
but i buff on the top side
it tosses stuff across the shop but my feet are safe :)

FWIW, a Baldor 332B on the Baldor stand puts the shaft at 41" above the floor.

Thanks folks, I'll try higher rater than lower then. Not sure about buffing on the top side though (with buffer turning the other way right?). That must take some getting use to.

yes with the buffer running away from you
i find i can lock my elbows into my side and push down to the wheel better then pull up into it

also tho i dont like useing the buffer if i dont have to its a tool that can get you fast if your not careful

My buffer is about at my belt line, so that I am standing upright, and leaning only slightly forward when buffing.
