It doesnt seem right, its like having $1000s of dollars thrown in a shoe box. What way do you guys store your blades? I was thinking of getting a basic display cabinet made for my store, drawers for the sheaths and the knives sat on display pins. (I think my carpet needs vacuumed):D Plus I have a Cold Steel Recon Scout, Dan Koster pukko, Busse BM and MS on its way with Rat 6 and ZT folder to follow, so its gonna get pretty crowded in there pretty soon.

A knife case would be so sweet. Too bad they are either so damn expensive that you rather buy a knife or three with those prices, or they are so cheap you don't really trust carrying them in the public in fear of embarrassing case failure.

Sweet set of knives there you got.

thats alot of sharp and pointy in one box:eek::D yeah you need more room. i have an old bread box that i fixed up for my slipjoints and pipes and that sits on an old book case that has all my sheath knives... Ideally the knives should be stored outside the leather as the leather can stain the blade over time.
Get creative you might not need to spend alot of money on a storage solution.
cheers
ivan
P.S. what is the leather beast 3 down from the top, almost looks like a piggyback sheath???

Dont talk to me about sheath staining, dont know if you can see it but check out along the spine of the knife, my own novice fault. :(

I keep mine on a shelf for now, but I'm going to get one of those wooden cabinets from target and putting some hooks on it to hold my fixed blades. The folders I keep in a Spyderco Spyderpac.

thanks, looks like a good setup, as far as the stained blade, you could always send it to me if you dont like it anymore;)

You think that's bad, you should see my setup- or rather, lack thereof. I have a big Pelican case that's stuffed to the gills with knives, a chest of drawers in my safe that's crammed full, a couple drawer-boxes jammed to the brim, a few knife cases, and a filing cabinet at work to boot. I have knives hanging on the walls in my office, sitting on shelves, and cluttering my desk. I have 32 knives within arm's reach as I type this- I just counted. And I'm at work.

Thats a dream.... So many knives you cant even store them. I have a tiny collection with a tiny box :(

You'll get there. It just takes time. Those things start to stack up eventually. Nice carpet in your pictures, by the way! Brintons Axminster if I'm not mistaken. That stuff's not cheap.

Hey if anyone is running out of space to store knives i would gladly store them for them...I have LOTS of space for storage and very little to store...just saying...:)

I think i need to upgrade my storage from a large tube sock to something like a waterproof box...im still small time.

Night stand drawer(s), workbench drawer(s), sock drawer(s), lockbox(es).... Uhhh...
I ought to just move out of my apartment, so I can just use the whole thing for knife and bicycle storage. You know, just open the front door, toss 'em in, and lock it up again. ;)

Puukkoman, sounds like you need to offload some of those guys...i have more room in my tube sock for your knives...haha

Keeping the knives stored in several locations is alway a good idea: keeps HER from seeing how many there actually are.

I made a bamboo case with a glass front to hold all my knives it's about 27 inches high by 17 inches wide and 2 inches deep and it stores (part) of my collection just fine

+1 to that. It's also a form of damage control, in case SHE throws a tantrum and decides to throw away a box of your knives to show you how you've bruised her precious EMOTIONS. It could happen. I go into cold sweats thinking about that sometimes.

If you're worried about this; might I suggest a 1,000 pound gun safe that SHE doesn't have the combination to? By the time SHE firgures out how to get into it or move it SHE'LL have already run out of steam or forgot what SHE was doing it for.

I'm sure she wouldn't do that! She seemed perfectly civilized when I met her! :D
