Stump, I have no words. I am honored and humbled that you feel that way.

I completely agree with you. Just remember, all the original SHBM's were higher in HRc. And the two knives that gave INFI it's fame were not 300's. Ron Hoods knife had a different swedge(mild) and Cliff Stamps knife had no swedge. Sorry, I can't help myself when it comes to SHBM's.
But regardless, knowing something was an early model, pre-production or prototype is a part of history. There has been times when I have seen certain old SHBM's on ebay that I knew the history of, which may have made the knife more valuable, but had no reason to help out the person selling it on ebay. I have helped people on here by providing the history of certain knives that were being sold. I don't know if it added value or just helped sell it faster.
With one exception. The rumor is, that one of Foo's 3 knives, the Wasp, was Ht'd at a higher Rc of 64 ish. Not sure if that has ever been verified. Thanks for the correction, I didn't know it was all of the original SHBMs but that's cool.

You are correct... The WASP was one of the 2 SHBMs that was at the 65rc... The other was Ron Hood's second BM he had sent in to be lightened up for his wife.
For those interested, here are my original posts about the Holy Trinity.
There was the Battle Mistress featured in the March 1998 American Survival Guide article by Ron Hood.
Yes it was me that dove into the trough that night and grabbed this beauty. So I finally scored a SHBM or two but more on that one in a bit. After I scored these, I started to do a little digging Ive had some theories about the article mistress for a long time so I had to know more.
Heres some of what I found out she weighs in at 24.6 ounces, is a hefty .290 thick at the ricasso, and Rockwell tests at 60Rc. This Battle Mistress was delivered to Ron for the article...

A couple of HOG brothers were kind enough to put me in touch with another Busse addict from the past Tom Wheeler. Tom has asked me to share his treasured SHBM with you all and its definitely a piece worth sharing!
OK why is this SHBM so special you ask??? This particular SHBM was THE FIRST one that Jerry made specifically for field testing. It was made especially for Tom (see the TW initial stamp on the pommel) with the intent of being taken out and put through some real survival situations to see how well his new INFI steel faired under such conditions. The...

Ahhhhh… I was finally able to pry this from Tom’s hooves
It wasn’t easy… and I know he really didn’t want to part with her but…
The WASP has landed!!!
THANKS Tom... you're the best!!!!
I’ll give you all more pics in a minute…
But for those that are new or never saw these, here’s a little about them.
This is the third and I’m pretty sure the final pre-production release SHBM,
and the second one to have a...

Two schools near me have a Rockwell tester. I’ll get in contact/see what I can arrange.Yeah, I would love to get that one verified at 65. For a 0.5% carbon blade to hit Rc of 65 would be impressive.
I have Aftershock Bolo LE #1, also from Progunner, the interesting note from this piece, also #2 & #3, is that they have the Busse Combat oval reverse SH-e logo. #4 & up have the standard Busse Combat SHe logo. I've never seen #2 or #3 posted, no clue where they are.
He also passed his Snakeskin satin Off Duty to me. My longest grail hunt to date
Scored the prototype OD from Dark Nemesis in an eBay auction a few years later.

I haven't even seen other low #'s posted in pix anywhere, sale or otherwise lol & it's been a minute since I've seen any for sale. They're hidingI owned aftershock bolo #7 twice. And I wasn't the original owner. I have seen several for sale over the years, but not low numbers.
