How is 2012 starting out for you?

The new year is turning out really good for me so far and has me feeling like a kid that's been let loose in a candy store. I just got my new Blue M390 Para 2, along with an Orange Manix 2 and my first ZT knives, the 0350 and 0200 through trades. I also have the orange CTS-XHP Para 2 on pre-order as well and plan on ordering the ZT 0550 next week.

I am definitely getting used to being an empty nester......:D

With the exception of the 0350, all of these came in today....:D :p

How is 2012 for you so far?
 
Not as good as it is for you... DO WANT that blue para! Mind to say where you acquired yours?

I don't think that the dealer can be named due to them not being a Bladeforums supporter, but the Blue Para is a sprint run and still available I believe. I sent you a pm.

No knives so far, but this last friday I nearly died again. I had a siezure, low blood sugar, and my blood pressure droped and they couldn't get it back up for a day. so I had five IV's and a central line in my chest while in ICU. Im ok now, but DAMN that was scary.

But not as bad as January 2 of last year... I was in a coma for two weeks.
 
Well I bought a Spyderco Manbug, a Spyderco Grasshopper, and a Buck 112 within the past month. I plan on buying a few more Spyderco knives and that new Buck 124 very soon.
 
Zero knives bought so far this year, I've been working on customs for several people though (which will allow me to purchase a new knife), One wanted a Cord Wrapped Tanto, I made it from an old Nicholson file and the other wanted an "Old" looking up swept hunting/skinning blade, I made from L6.
I'm hoping to get a ZT 0561 and a Benchmade Torrent Steigerwalt 890 in a few months.
Nice beginning of the year buys by the way :thumbup:
 
So far it's good , but expensive for me . I have both a Busse basic 4 and a Scrap Yard 711 on order that should be shipping this week .

I haven't bought any this year but I have several hundred pounds of brass and probably a hundred lbs. of copper to separate and scrap. Almost ready to put in my order for a Yuna mini hard :)
 
15 days in and I already broke my New Years resolution...swore the 0561 would be the 1st knife purchase. Traded/+ $$$ my way into one of my grails...CRK Lg Sebenza. A little cash out of pocket, but great deal nonetheless. So...yeah...its been a great year so far.:emmersed:
 
I also haven´t bought any knife this year but I´m going to get a Spyderco Gayle Bradley and Fallkniven A1 - good survival knife is still missing in my collection. And I´m waiting for my Yuna Great Assassin... Another knives for this year ? It will depend on my financial situation and tolerance of my wife... (I hope it won´t be Zero Tolerance;))

I'm sorry to hear that. Hope you get and stay better. As for knives, so far I've only purchased a Para 2. Loven' the thing.
 
I've only received two so far this year, a GEC 2011 Bladeforums #85 and my GEC #54 Big Jack. Although I did purchase the #54 in 2011 I only had it one day and had to send it back to the factory for some small issues so I "technically" didn't get to use or carry it until 2012!

Let me first preface this by stating I only started really getting into knives a month or two ago. Sure, I've had my share of Benchmades, Bucks, and CRKTs, but they were always seen just as tools - not a potential obsession. That isn't the case anymore as it seems I've developed the "sickness" pretty bad.
Granted, my money situation following the holiday is in a recovery period, so I've only actually bought modest purchases so far in 2012. A Gransfors Bruks SFA and a Sharpmaker. More to follow when I get my income tax return and enlistment bonus installment.

Guns, Jeeps, mountainbikes,...and now knives. I gotta find some cheaper hobbies.
 
Knife wise, very well. I picked up a BM mini Ultra-Presidio, a CRKT Ripple 2, and have a BM 13960 and a Ritter mini-grip with custom orange g-10 scales on the way. I am also about to finally overcome the incredibly uneven bevel on my Queen #41 Copperhead. I got it two years ago, and have been having a go at grinding it down with my sharpmaker every few months. Decided I would finally get it sharp, and have been going crazy at it. Sharpened that one side for 4 hours yesterday, and am on hour 2 today. Figure I will get it sometime later today. Time to go clean the stones again lol....
 
I've been a very good boy and made ZERO purchases so far :D . I am however looking forward to ZT 0560
