how is benchmades customer service etc. ?

I've only had one experience ordering directly from benchmade, and it was an extremely poor one. Needless to say, it took two months and me demanding a refund and telling them to keep the knife before the finally admitted they made a mistake, overnight shipped it to me, and refunded my money. I was pleased then, but it should not have taken so long. I have heard from others their reputation is excellent however, so do not take my experience as the trend.

Nothing but awesome. I have contacted them on numerous occasions about getting pocket clips, screws, or butterfly logos. Each time they sent them out, no questions asked. I've been going with Benchmade for years now. Funny that I only own one axis lock Benchmade though.

I've only owned one BM - an Emerson 970 (CQC7) w/ Ti blade that I got in 1996. I sent it in to BM last year for a refurb (new screws, pivot, clip, sharpening) before I sold it. I asked for, and received back, all the original hardware.

I thought they did a great job all the way around. It wasn't real fast - maybe about a 6 week turnaround. But then again, it was all FREE!

Damn, maybe I should have kept that one!

I would rate them AAA. They have been very helpful over the years. They have bent over backwards to correct any problem you might be having.

Excellent. Better than spyderco...they fix things that break through wear and are not a manufacturer's defect (e.g. springs on autos.)
