How is the leek?

The leek is one of those knives I've always been thinking about buying, somehow I haven't yet.

How is it to use? Do you get a good grip around the handle?

The only Kershaw/ZT folder I have now is a 0560, and I want to buy some more now.

it is a excellent knife, not as hard use as your 0560 but is a very good knife, i have both the leek and the chive & both sizes are excellent
 
Even though it is not an ideal edc, my smoke blue Leek is one of my favorite gentleman/value knives. I sold my first and regretted it. I got another last month. This one is going to stay.
 
i think the leek is about an ideal edc for the office, church, family get togethers, etc. small, thin, and light not scary. the 14c28n takes a nice edge and is super easy to touch up.
 
The Leek is a good knife, but if you want a knife with a strong tip, then the Leek is definitely not for you. I like thick tips, and that is why mine is on the bay as I type lol
 
If you want a small, light duty EDC its great. For heavier duty use, get something bigger and stronger.

The TGRYST is a nice EDC Leek.
 
Nice light duty knife.

I keep one in the car, and two on the table next to the recliner.
 
The leek is an excellent knife. Honestly if I had to pick one knife based on value and function it might have to be the leek. 14c28n is oft overlooked on this forum. It takes a devil of an edge, doesn't rust too easily and is reasonable to sharpen. The sharpest edge i've ever produced has been on a leek. Get one. You can find a blem for like 25 bucks and it's worth every penny.
 
I have a couple leeks never really carried them but know alot of people that do and love them. Always wanted to get a random leek but haven't yet
 
I bought a leek and never really carry it because of the tip. I dont pry with my knives but it seems fragile enough to break from a mishap while cutting. Mostly use it around the house or church.
 
My dad carries a Leek and he absolutely loves it. He has it everywhere and it seems like a step classier than most of my other knives.
 
I had 3 in my highschool days...somehow lost all of them. Great knife...although I don't think the blade shape is great for EDC (no belly, handle geometry makes push cutting less than ideal for my money). I think its an awesome mail and package opener, beats a letter opener any day. And a great fondling knife.
 
I love my leek. For the price, it's outstanding. I find it to be one of those knives definitely worth owning but not really for EDC. It has its place for use but I consider mine more of a once a week carry (give or take.) I think everyone can find at least one place for it.
 
I bent my leek tip opening a bubble-pack. I guess the people who regularly use this for light work must eventually round off the tip.
 
Don't own one, but a customer brought one to me to be sharpened, and I tried everything I could think of to convince him that I had "lost" his knife. :D He wouldn't buy it, so I had to return it to him. I come across a lot of knives, and few of them impress me enough to really want one for myself. I am primarily a traditional "slippie" type of person, but his leek (all stainless) really got my interest up. It will be my next knife to buy when I get the chance and find the one I want at a price I want to pay. (shouldn't be too hard) Love the blade shape and the way it fit in my hand. I don't pry with my knives, so the tip shape is not a negative for me. I have ruined a few good screwdrivers in my time though.

If you bent the tip opening a bubble pack, someone needs to show you the correct way to use a knife.

No offense, just sayin'.... :confused:
 
I have two. They're all right, but not my favorite. Tip is needle thin, don't especially like that. Would like to get a Random Leek, but the only ones I've seen are partially serrated, which I don't like. So all my Leeks tend to hang out in a box together.
 
The Leek was the knife that introduced me to KAI knives a decade ago. I carried one daily for 8 years. The pointy tip is very sharp. None of mine have bent or rounded off. I have given a few away as gifts. I still like to carry one from time to time since it less scary looking than my ZTs.
