How is this handle done?

I am new to custom knives and I am wondering how is the handle on the knife done? Is it bolt fasteners that are screwed in the handle and then sanded down so that they are smooth on top? Just wonder what you guys think. Thanks!

Well, it says the scales are micarta, which is available in block form. Since this is a commercially-produced knife, they may be doing the cutouts with advanced (CNC) machining methods.
However, the hobbyist maker could easily duplicate the shaping with files, sandpaper, grinders, or whatever.
The rivets may be a commercial item as well; the "blind" kind that are press-fitted together and then ground smooth.

usually some kind of epoxy (there are a few) with maybe loveless bolts ground down?

Not loveless,you would see the screw in the center,most likely corbys or maybe just 1/4" pin stock.

Looks like they are corby bolts, as mentioned above.

After talking with RJ at Blade, I'd say that they're likely Corby bolts.
