how is transportation incorperated into your plan?

I am currently pushing a beat to hell and back 85 Toyota pick up. For winter driving, I am going to have to go out and just buy a Silverado. No way around it. The Toyota is 4WD, and would probably climb a wall if needed. I have a little go kit in the back of the cab. Any survival situations would probably arise from the truck leaving me high and hopefully dry somewhere.
