well I don't know about that, I've been there several times and have partaken of every island except the forbidden one, malaki? or whatever..

anyhow after about 2 weeks I was always wanting to get back to cali.. then again home is where you lay your head..

I always went around October and it was like 80 I loved it, but 80 around Christmas?, nah not for me doesn't feel christmasy.. maybe I'm just jealous idk.. :o)

I don't think most of my Neighbors even know what a becker is besides my dog......
They are missing out
 
Probably Ni‘ihau. I'll be doing some camping on Moloka‘i next year.

Hawaii ain't for everyone, that's for sure. Sometimes i miss the cold, sometimes. I grew up in Wash. DC, lived in Savannah, GA, Omaha, NE, and here on O‘ahu for 6 yrs now. For a few years of that it drove me nuts, island fever is real and painful! I'm at home on island now, but it's prob not forever for me. It's a big world.

Nice thing about Maui or Big Island is you have mountains with enough altitude to drive to the cold!

Another mild winter, but with more snow. Winter started out with a bang with cold weather and alot of snow in November, but it has since started to wither back to the 'new normal'. It will be another early spring:yawn:.
 
Been pretty mild here in Colorado! The high country has been getting hit with snow, but nada on the Front Range. We're finally supposed to get some snow today! Whether or not it accumulates is another story. I usually don't believe it until I see it...

ETA: Yep, it's snowing on the Front Range. My dog loves the snow...we're goin to the park!!!

Winter started hard here about a month and a half ago. I think its been the coldest december in 50 years. Lots of snow and ice. Thank god for my winter tires.
 
Guess I'm a butthead, too. I love snow. The problem is - WE DON'T HAVE ANY!!!!! Areas on all sides of us have snow, us nada! The only silver lining is that I don't have any snow tires on yet, so driving is easy, otherwise I even like driving in the snow.

Consider:

-no Lyme disease worries
-no killer bees :rolleyes:
-no mosquitoes
-no flies
-less people on the trail
-beer is always cold
-no worries about keeping meat refrigerated
-no worries about sun stroke or heat exhaustion
-allows you to easily travel in areas that are impassable during warmer
weather
-easier recreational tracking

Well that should get you started anyway........:D
