How large is to large?

Well, I like my CUDA Maxx, but my dad doesnt like me to carry it too much. And seeing as I live in his house, I do as he says. :) I, on the other hand dont care about what sheeple think, but because they might call the cops, and I might never see my Maxx again, I dont pull it out in public. I carry a Griptillian for that chore.

I've had some people say I "look dangerous" while walking from the lunch table to the sink with my 2.5 inch Fallkniven U2!!!
But they don't say anything about the 6 inch stainless dagger-type letter opener on the front desk.
Go figure.
All I can suggest is use what you are comfortable with and will do the job. I let them take care of their emotions and as long as I'm being sensible I'm OK with that.

I don't think I've ever cared what sheeple said. I carry a 3.75-4" fixed blade all the time, and you know, I just don't care. Not gonna let the sheeple get me down; it's a tool, that's what it's used for, and that's why I carry it. If you're a carpenter carry a saw, if you're a mechanic carry a ratchet, and if you're HUMAN carry a blade. IMO that's all there is to it. Like everyone else says, don't let the sheeple get ya runnin' scared, just carry what you want (or what you're comfortable with) and what's legal.

AMEN misque!!!!! If I had read what you said in the first place I would've just pointed to your post. I've said the same thing and agree 200%!!

Note: I'm not saying that carpenters and mechanics aren't human (though I've met some pretty questionable ones :D ) just using their occupational tools as an example, but y'all know what I'm talking about.

I like a 3.5-4" blade, and I carry a Mission MPF ( just a shade under 4"). I'm in and out of brokerage offices all day, and while I don't wave it around, I don't think it would be a problem either. Hey, I'm in Texas-I'm supposed to have a pocket knife! ;) The other pocket has a SAK for the more mundane tasks.

I made a 2.5" fixed blade with an overall of 6.25" a month ago. I carried it in a pouch sheath on my side for 2 weeks and no one noticed at all. Handy size. Right now I an carrying a blade thats 3.5" with an overall of 8" and I get those "glances" at my side....I say carry what you like :D

My "large" knife is a 4.2" balisong. At work, people are used to me and my knives, but outside work, I have to admit the "screw what they think" attitude I'd like to have doesn't always show through. It's hard to whip out such a knife to clean gunk from a fingernail during latin class or cut some packing tape at the Post Office.
