How long before Sharpmaker rods are loaded?

I havent got it with me (I am at work) but its a US prduct and is sold to cyclists. Comes in a black plastic botle. Will look it up in he next day or two.

The hardest stone to prevent from loading is the brown as it soaks up the oil. I also had good results with gun oil. The heavier the oil the better.

I'm having a tough time wrapping my "dain" around the idea that you put something oily on something that is supposed to be abrasive. But, I guess the same is true with stones... still, it seems like the abrasion would be less, but as long as it's abrasive enough, I guess that is what matters?

Works for me. Tried water and WD40 but it loadsed up. Tried Braso and it kinda worked. Best results with heavy oils, specialy with teflon oil.

Thanks Frank... I'll call a couple bike shops and see what they have, but if you happen to come across your bottle, would you please post the name? I think I'd like to try the same brand, since you've had success with it.

Tri-Flow. Nowadays most bicicle oils are teflon loaded (Dupont!)

Totally Loaded......

half dozen double Scotch or Irish whiskeys or dry martinis.

Can't sharpen well loaded that's a fact.
