Hi first time Sebenza owner, long time fan, how long before I stop checkin' my pocket to make sure my Sebenza' s still there?

I do have to admit to constant desire to put my hand in my pocket to fondle it, the Sebenza that is. :)

you'll end like me,
hands 99% of the time in the pocket, left on the phone, right gripping the lanyard hole (and the skull attached)

well, I actually "check" or better, want to "feel" it, touch a part inside the calfskin sleeve
so more a "want to feel it" than a "checking it's there" for me

Eventually the Seb becomes very much a part of you and in that regard you begin to trust it is always at your side IMHO. The fondling is something you may just have to get use to though.

Last week I reached for my Large Starbenza while at work and it wasn't there - HUGE GASP!! Retraced my path all the way back to my car, and still no CRK. Finally, a full 20 panicky minutes later I found it dangling from the liner of my coat - damned thing had picked my pocket.

Your coat has poor morals but excellent taste! :)

I still feel every now and then to make sure mine is still clipped on. The clip holds well, and I've never lost one, but I still feel for it.
Guess I always will.

You will just trust that it is there after awhile......
However- if you ever lose an expensive knife you will check constantly even years later! ( and still get sad thinking about the one that got away)

When I do pocket carry one of my Sebs, I am always checking to see if I can feel a clip.

Same as Mad_Maxx above, left hand to feel if my phone is still in it's holster, right hand to feel for clip.

Which is why I usually belt sheath carry, full confidence.

Great question, the short answer is never.
You do end up changing the reason why you check to see if its still there though. I imagine that you start like so many of us, because its freaking expensive ( don't worry, you're thoughts on that will be changed by this knife too ) but after a while, you'll be doing the check to be reassured that your faithful companion is at your side and ready for the whatever the moment may bring with thoughts of original cost pleasantly faded from memory with each new day and each new mark on the knife that gives it character and soul. Or possibly because like so many of us you'll have now bought so many for your collection that the one beater in your pocket, although high dollar, no longer represents the monetary investment it once did.

Erdelyi that's a nice looking sebenza you got there. I quick checking for mine after I took off my pocket clip and let it loose in the pocket. Before I did that I was checking every hour to make sure I didn't loose it! Now the only time I check is when I am leaving the house to make sure I didn't forget anything. It is kind of strange actually because I talk to myself when I'm checking "knife, wallet, keys, phone "

Hmmmm, this is making me think, should I put my small knife collection on our insurance policy? USAA will probably crack up when I tell them I want to add to the policy: "really. nice. knives."

I fondle my EDC so often there is little chance of them going missing. And I don't use the leather case for my Sebbie, or even the clip cases for my William Henry's. A little pocket wear is good for the soul.

Haha... You wont!!

Visited Germany recently and llocking one-hand knives are forbidden to carry there! So, I left my Sebbie at home!

As you can imagine, there were several small panic-attacks as I felt my pocket for my Sebbie, and it wasn't there........

Only happened half a dozen times that day though:-|

I frequently check if it's there...just like I check if my wallet is there. Wouldn't want to be without either one. If I haven't stopped to admire my Sebenza at some point or other it's probably a pretty bad day.

Keep checking every now and again when you carry it. Don't be too paranoid about losing but you should still keep tabs on it,
I lost a small. Reg Sebbi a few years ago during a fishing session... That sucked bad, lesson learned that day.

I always brush my hand along the outside of my pocket to feel for the lanyard constantly all day. But I have only had my seb for a week...

I constantly feel for the bulge in my pants...my sebby:)

The times I most check is when im getting in my car or especially when im getting out.
