How long before ya stop checkin' yer pocket for yer new Sebenza?

I fidget with knives constantly. While watching movies, or at work. Often time it's a fixed blade if I'm just sitting somewhere. But I'll fondle my small sebenza constantly. I go out of my way to avoid opening it and closing it (it would be opened hundreds of times a day if I didnt). Most of the time I'm just admiring it when closed.
 
Even though I've had the opportunity to play with a few in the past it wasn't until it was mine that I really understood the attraction.
Now I'll never be without another one, kinda like my Ruger Mk 1 or my Citizens ECO Watch, quality products breed brand loyalty.
 
I subconsciously check more than I consciously check I am sure. I am aware of "checking" my pockets very often... Too often to count. I just check quick to know it is still there. It isn't just with my sebenza I do this. I do it with other knives, my phone, etc. I just NEED to know I have everything!
 
Regular checks throughout the day, just a touch of the pocket clip puts me at ease.

I lost my large EDC micarta a long time ago when it popped out on the subway (I think). Now I check as a habit throughout the day

My current EDC is a LE mammoth which was almost twice as expensive. While I've had a few heart stopping moments when the clip-check came up empty-pocketed. Thankfully, keeping the checks a regular habit means retracing my steps is a short process.

It is no longer about the money for me, although it would hurt financially to replace my Sebenza, it is more about losing a constant, reliable companion that I would hate.
 
I think that's the problem with knives they get to be like a faithful dog that you take for granted as always bein' around till ya look down and noticed its gone.

I've had more expensive custom folders I've been less obsessed with, part of the problem I think is that this is the longest I've ever wanted or waited to get a particular knife, (20 years) so I'm more obsessed with this one.

Oh, every 5 minutes or so.
 
I, with any knife always check my pockets all the time to make sure it is always there and not snagged on a seat or anything when I get up, or anything. I wear my blades on the left rear pocket. Just like my phone (front right), it has its own pocket.
 
It will never end. Its called edcing a $400+ knife....lol. Whether the sebbie is New or Old, I do it constantly when carrying mine. My edc is a Large Regular " In God We Trust ". Always wanna keep tabs on them.
