How long does an almite finish last?

Cannot tell you about Lum, but I carried R2 for for about a year five days a week and there were some wear on the clip and this was it. Very good coating
 
thanks, that's very reassuring...i love to use my knives (properly) knowing that the aesthetic side of them will not be damaged by it.
 
I have an old green lum and it's held up great. Only blemishes are a nick and cratch or two where it was dropped on concrete.
