How long does the average griptilian last for?

Say the springs do break, what can i do about it? Like if i contact BM would they send me some new springs or do i send it back to BM?

My best friend carries a Mini-Grip, and has since they first came out. He hasn't bought a folder since, either.
The thing with Axis springs is that you don't know. That's really the only thing I don't like about the Axis. The springs may last forever, or may go tomorrow. I carry a 940Ti, and have every day for 5 years without any problems, so it's not something I dwell on.

What kind of maintenance does the Mini Grip need exactly?

I use the knife quite a lot and it can get dusty or wet, I usually just wash it out with soap&water and dry it.So far so good, but WHERE should it be oiled?

Excellent knife so far,really well-made!

BTW, how does that handle hold up? The word "plastic" keeps on drawing me away from this knife.

I suppose anything can or will break but Bobo's is the first post I can recall where someone actually had one break. I don't have a BM grip but I do have a CS Recon that works very similarly. At the time I was unaware they were copying someone else's technology, nonetheless I have opened closed and flipped the hell out of it for years and it's going strong. As the spring isn't holding the knife open but just allowing the lock to close there's not really that much stress on it IMO.

Don't be fooled; this plastic is tough. It would rather dent in than crack.

I actually prefer FRN, provided that it is textured to ensure grippiness.

If you've held on in real life, you'd know what I'm talking about.

I think they will last a very long time.

I just put a mini ritter through hell yesterday cutting a bunch of coax and cat-5 ...

Eventhough there were chips it still shaved and has zero blade play.

I resharpened it and it's back in my pocket like new.

That says alot because another knife which I wont name developed play after one cut through coax.

That coax is some tough stuff!

I also prefer FRN over G10 or anything else for my work knives. I've dropped mine onto the concrete warehouse floor several times and there's nothing to show for it. The FRN doesn't even know it's been dropped. That's just a normal part of the day for this stuff.

My axis lock did fail, i assume because a spring broke or became displaced, the knife was still fine so benchamde fixed it free of charge in a few days

mini grip and a spyd native and a barkie is prob my next purchase

next month or month after that

gawd, i shud slow down
