How long does yr framelock take to wear out till blade play occurs?

i have a gerber mini paraframe. ive thrown it across my lawn at a tree and had it bounce off, partially closing what once was locked. im not nice to it at all. it has 100 percent lockup with very minimal bladeplay. im quite surprised. the lock bar goes all the way over. no more movement is possible. and theres not much bladeplay
Yeah, gotta say my 2001 Gerber Harsey Air Ranger II has never had a problem and its lock bar is pretty slim. I don't carry it anymore, but I used it pretty hard for years.

Ti against hardened steel will wear eventually even if heat treated. Ever had lock stick on a new custom or production knife? This will eventually go away as the ti wears. But depending on the strength of the lockbar tension and how much you flick it open daily the rate of wear will vary. Eventually when the lock face on the ti wears down it will develop lock slip. I've seen it on both high end production knives and customs. I think the key is getting the lock face angles perfect, along with a steel lockbar insert.

My 755 MPR started out with a 30% lock up. After a couple weeks it wears in to 50%. At the rate that the lock's wearing, i'm kinda worried that vertical blade play may happen sooner than expected.

So guys, whats yr take on this? Especially 755 MPR owners. Any issues so far?

Beat me to it. This thread predates ubiquitous lockbar inserts. They existed, but weren’t yet staples. I think the oldest one I have is on a 03/2013 birthed Microtech DOC.

The Ti will work harden.
