I'm just curious how long you guys have spent looking for a specific knife? I have spent 3 years looking for a specific knife. I have no idea how many of them were made or who even originally sold them. In the 3 years I've been looking I have found 2 but neither of the sellers have been willing to sell. So how long have you guys spent looking for a specific knife model?

I've been looking to get a Benchmade 7505-132 since they came out (2014?), just as I was about to pull the trigger on a knife about double what I had ever spent on a knife ($385) Benchmade instituted MAAP and the price went up to $525+ literally overnight, I've been waiting for a decent deal on a used one since.

I didn't mention the knife I'm looking for because there is a section in the forums for it but since you asked I'm looking for the g10 version of the kershaw knockout

A few weeks at most. There are always newer and shinier things on the horizon. Worst case, lay down the dollars and go with a custom.

I spent about 10 yrs looking for this imperial H6 fixed blade.

My dad got a hatchet / knife combo as a kid, but the knife disappeared while he was in the army so I only got the hatchet. To be honest I'd much rather have only got the knife even though I do love the hatchet shaped knife that I did get.
Anyways I eventually googled this set discovering the knife which I instantly fell in love with, I don't do EBay...ect so it wasn't until I spied this in a forum members axe / tool haul pic and gave 18$ for it to my door that my search was over.

I am right there with you, with one small exception, mine was made by Wenger back between '67-'71. I have no count how many were made, or where they were sold (which country).

I have found one or two in private collections, one in a recent photo. I made contact with a friend of the owner, stating I was curious in one particular knife in his collection. He asked me which knife, and I told him which by model name, and circled it in the photo.
This is the point he broke contact and has never offered any info or reply.

It is a Wenger Professional 4 Layer.

And the hunt goes on.

Been on the hunt for a Sherman straight razor from keyport, NJ as well as a P. Eisman/Philetse, from lancaster, PA for quite a while now. Those are my biggest two ongoing hunts.

Strategy, call the Allenwood General Store in Allenwood, NJ.
He has a bunch of old straight razors in his shelves, and he doesn't advertise. Just walk-ins and phone calls.

Good BLTs and Tomato soup too.
