(IT'S BEEN DELIVERED)

I've sent out a package on June 27 (USPS priority), so it's been two weeks now and it still hasn't arrived. Should I wait more or go to the post office and complain?

(DELIVERED)

If it was a USPS Priority domestic shipment, it should have arrived at its destination over a week ago. If you didn't pay for tracking or insurance, there's not much they can do for you.

The destination was FL. This was my most expensive knife so far, so I did get DC and got it insured. Tracking status is in "acceptance".

Contact the post office, you can go to their website and look for customer service. I frequently used priority mail with delivery confirmation, and they're supposed to update the delivery confirmation online daily, but they don't always do it. I had a few packages that weren't showing as being picked up or delivered. I contacted the recipients and the post office to make sure they were delivered. The recipients said they got it, and the post office said they had no record of it, so the PO refunded the costs of the delivery confirmation, of course it was in stamps. They do occasionally misroute packages, and that could add up to a week to the delivery time, it has happened to me.

Contact your local post office and provide them with the DC number. They can provide actual status. If you are using www.usps.com you will not get the real answer. For some reason the web site does not have full access to the same system as does an actual post office. If has to be a true post office and not a private store who is an agent (franchise) for the post office. Hope thsi helps.

I have seen USPS get a package across the country in 3 days. I have also seen USPS take 28 days to get a similar size package to the same address.
USPS does vary considerably in delivery time. Our PO tells us there is nothing they can do for 30 days. i.e.: Package is not considered missing for 30 days.

The other possibility, of course, is that it arrived some time ago and someone isn't owning up to it. That is actually the most likely situation, at least statistically.
