Dear Abby,
My CC was charged by the Busse Combat Knife Co., and my knives are missing!
They claim that your credit will not be charged until immediately before your knives are shipped.
How long should I wait before I call the shop? I don't want to bug them until an appropriately long enough time has passed.
Thank you, I love your column and read it every week. And last week the advise that you gave that poor man with that nasty rash, that was great!

Dear Numb Nuts,

In my experience "immediately" before shipping means you can expect them about a week to a week and a half after the charge hits your card. They send them down to the shipping dept. and it is their baby from there on out. As long as they don't sit it under a table and forget about it, you should be all good. :) How's you rash by the way?

Yours in pustuled rashes and other atrocities,
Crabby

:D (All kidding aside WM, that 1 to 1.5 after charging has been my experience as a general rule. Sometimes a little longer sometimes a little less.)

What! You are only supposed to wait a week to a week and a half?? My CC was charged in Oct. and I still haven't received my custom yet!! I'm calling right now and rasing hell!! LOL

Thanks,
Numb Nuts II

I'd bug 'em till they know and despise your name. That's the only way you get through to people who have whiskey running through their veins:D

Jerry, just tell Jennifer you techincally you have scotch in your veins so this doesn't apply.

I tried that one early on, and it doesn't work as well as sending multiple bottles of either JWG or JWB to Jerry's attention with a little note in the box reminding him of what's up. Of course, it seems as though Garth really runs things there now so I would advise sending said future alcohol shipments to his attention for more rapid service.

The longest I’ve had to wait from my card being charged to the knife arriving in Australia was 23 days. I don’t begin to get concerned until the three-week mark.

Since all Scotch is Whiskey I don't think this "Technicality" will work... Open a few bottles and lets test it!

Or you can do what I did and send them a knife wrapped in dirty underwear.

I'm only passing on what I'm gettin', Jerry. Since I've met my girlfriend, I've been forced to do without fried chicken, tequila, potato chips, and season tickets to my beloved Rockets. She's eyeing my knife collection next.:(

safong,

sounds like it's about time to put the GF on ebay and go find yourself a new one:D

just my humble opinion:)

Oh no my friend. If you tell a man that makes scotch that you want to try his whiskey you might just get a face full of it.
OK, we know that it's basically the same stuff but the people that make it and the people that love to drink it differentiate for a reason.
That's why I used the word "techinically". JWB is a scotch and not a whiskey, or a burbon.
Hey I'm trying to get the guy off on a technicality. You're not helping. :D

Galaxy, if I did put her on eBay, I'd probably end up bidding on her and winning. Some of just love what gives us pain...but if she were to touch my knives...

If you send scotch to Jerry or Garth they will just start drinking it right away and forget all about why you sent it. Huh?!?

Instead, I'd recommend sending chocolate and flowers to Kendra, she's the one who really keeps things running in Wauseon. :D ;)

Jeeze, made to wait a whole two of weeks  Damn how do you do it?

I have only been waiting for just over 3 years for a knife that has been P.I.F. for 2 and a half years. :(

Don't mean to take a shots at you WM just bear in mind there are others out their who have been waiting for stuff a whole lot longer...who are still waiting

FoS, believe it or not you are not alone in such a wait and by the way, it isn't a record either. :)

Apples and Oranges. I've heard that most people have received their minis already, and what I was really afraid of was that it was lost in shipping. I finally called, and I guess there is one more wave left to mail, but they'll be out of the shop very soon.
