How Long Should I Wait?

Hey guys, I ordered a Speed/Spec and an E.T. back on 6/15, and I am still waiting for them. Do you think I should stick it out , or pull out? What is the longest that YOU would wait. Thanks.

Most internet sites will get knives to your door in about a week with the cheapest/slowest shipping they offer. You're almost at 2 months. There are too many other good stes out there that will treat you right for you to have to wait this long for 2 readily available production knives. If I were you I'd cancel my order and write a nasty post in the "Good, Bad, Ugly" section of Blade Forums.

Has anyone ordered knives from knifestuff.com? I placed an order yesterday and still have not received a confirmation. I'm wondering if I should contact my credit card company and cancel the charge.

I've ordered from a few places where they did not send a confirmation. I think one day is a bit too early to pull the trigger.

Thanks. I will wait a little longer. I am just use to quick responses from the companies I have ordered from in the past.

I'd hold on....it seems like every time I order on the internet it's a few days late. No biggie. They all got here fine.

I've been waiting a while for a Kershaw too. I ordered a Ripcord about a month ago and the vendor said they're still waiting for Kershaw to ship them! What's up with that??

Where did you order it from?

Have you called them?

I ordered them form The Blade Shop. Yes, I have sent them several emails, to which they have responded that they will be able to fill the order, just that they are waiting for them to ship from Kershaw. At first, this seemed reasonable, but now I am beginning to have my doubts. I know there are other suppliers who have these knives in stock.

I personally would cancel the order and get the knives from a dealer that had them in stock. It might not be the dealers fault. It could be that Kershaw is having trouble keeping up with orders. However, that's not your problem.

Hi all,

A little update on the 3 knives in question:

The E.T. is in stock, and there shouldn't be delays with shipments.

The Spec/Speed Bump is an exclusive for a distributor. 500 pieces were ordered, and shipped.

The Ripcord is a new knife that has yet to be released. It looks as if the first articles will be shipping later in August.

FYI, Kershaw does not supply internet only dealers, we have a group of distributors that service those accounts. It could be that the dealer in question is waiting on their distributor to assist in filling the order.

Well, after a two month wait, my order finally came. Sort of... I ordered and paid for an E.T. and a Spec/Speed Bump, but when the goods came, they were not exactly what I expected. The E.T. was as expected, but when looking at my new Spec/Speed Bump, I noticed a stamp on the blade which says "S30V". I immediately picked up the Kershaw box it came in, and sure enough, it was labeled as a Spec Bump, not a Spec/Speed Bump. Not exactly what I ordered, and the Spec/Speed is a 500 piece limited edition, so I suppose I could bitch, but I didn't buy it as a collectors item, and the Spec costs about twice as much. I'm guessing they realized they would not be able to supply the Spec/Speed after guaranteeing that they would, so they were stuck giving me an up grade. The two month wait sucked, but I got a knife worth about $50 more than what I paid for it, so I can't really complain. :) (Already cut myself with that E.T. though.)

actually, the S30V stamped on your blade is a lasering mistake. Is your blade satin or tungsten dlc coated? If its a non-coated blade stamped with S30V, its really Sandvic 13c26 steel. This was covered in another thread. Thomas W said that a few Speed/Spec Bumps were went out with the wrong steel type lasered on to the blade. The only Speed or Spec bumps with S30V steel also have the Tungsten DLC Coating, the rest are Sandvic Steel. Hope this helps.
