I posted a knife for sale recently. I almost instantly got a PM stating that this individual wanted the knife . This person asked for PP information which I gave him. Now he has dropped off the face of the earth. Have checked his profile and he has read my PMs but is not responding. He agreed to purchase the knife yesterday afternoon around 2:00. He has been on line twice since that time and still has not paypaled me as of this morning.

Is this buyers remorse?? or am I getting my chain jerked? how long should I wait before putting knife up for sale?? just curious what you guys would do??

In the deals in the past people pay withing the first few hours on paypal. If they cannot pay instantly they PM me to say it would be later that night etc.

Send him a couple of messages and see what happens, if nothing then I would not wait more than 24 hours. Sorry fella but don't keep me waiting.

That sucks !

I would send the person an e-mail and another PM. If they don't respond by 2 PM today, relist the knife.

24 hours after the person agreed to purchase is adequate time, especially if they've logged on and read your PM's.

I would seriously contemplate posting their name. Buyer's remorse or not, if you STEP UP. . . .PAY UP or contact the seller and EXPLAIN WHY they've decided to back out of the transaction that they committed to !

Buyers that play "dodge" after committing. . . .is so friggin' immature !

PS: I'm glad my new Voodoo doll is working. :p :D

He's jerking you around. Try to contact him one more time, and then move on. Let us know who this person is, please, as I would like to avoid such a person. Buyers remorse is one thing, but lack of communication is uncalled for.

PM him with a definite time limit and then stick to it, I can almost guess (I won't) who it is from past experience.

Hey Ren,

I have always given the buyer at least 72 hours to send me payment via Paypal. Make sure you drop him a follow-up.. If payment is not recieved within 48 to 72 hours.. It's his lose.

Good luck!

I would pay as soon as the deal was confirmed, and I had all your needed info. If for whatever reason I was unable to pay up immediatly I would email you to let you know what was going on, and when I would be getting you the money. I would expect no less from someone buying from me.

It is not to much to ask that the payment either be made in a timely fashion, or at least an explanation of why it is delayed. If not an explanation then at least something to reassure that it is on its way and a pretty good timeline of when.

It would have gone back up for sale as soon as I realized he had read my PM, but didn't bother to respond. I hate people who don't show common courtesy, and don't feel like I owe them anything.

Ren,

I'd be leery to. The person might be under 18 too, which means you lose as far as any business arrangement since a minor can't be held legally to a business agreement. They can be held criminally responsible, but you're still out $ or knife or both in some cases. Hose the toad and list it again.

Hank

Some people log on from different computers, like at work and at home. If he wasn't at home when he emailed you, he might not have his PP account available. He still should have let you know what was up.
