How long to 1950 degrees for an Evenheat KH418?

I've read a bit... this is an 18" long 110v oven. They overcome the voltage difference by making the chamber smaller, .29 cubic ft vs. roughly .7 cubic ft on the 220v 18" oven. How long can I expect this oven to take to get up to temp?

I currently have a 220 volt dental burnout oven, 10x10x 5 tall, and it takes a LONG time, pushing 3 hours, to get to 1950. It takes my current oven at least 1.5 hours just to get to 1500 or so.

Jason I can run a complete H/T cycle, 15min at 1200,15 min at 1600 and 30 min at 1980 in just over an hour and a half. That is in a 13.5 " 220v evenheat.

The 110VAC ovens are a tad slower than the 220VAC units, but will be much faster than your present jeweler/dental oven. Rise time to 1950F will probably be 15-30 minutes. when ramping at 9999.

Thanks, Stacy. That's my only beef with my current oven, the ridicuous ramp time. I'd like to have a 220v oven, and have the power setup for it already, but I found a good deal on a used 18" 110v oven. Since I've been working with a slow 10x10 220v oven for the last 4 years or so, even the 110 oven will be an improvement.

I sure wish my EvenHeat KF-18" (KF = 220VAC, 3120 watts) oven would get to 1950ºF in 30 minutes much less 15 minutes. Normally takes close to an hour for my oven to come up to temp when ramping at 9999 or max heating.

I would think the KH-418 would take even longer as it's only 1560 watts..... maybe twice as long?

I was referring to time to get to 1950F from 1400F.

There should be a pre-heat at 1400F, not a direct ramp to 1950F.

Less watts, but half the chamber size. I'd be thrilled with an hour to 1950, personally.

I have the same oven you are looking to get Travis and heat time to 1950 or 2000 is not bad.
It is when I try to reach on up to 2150 that it really takes it's time. Somewhat frustrating but it does get the job done.

I have one and would say over an hour from room temp maybe hour and a half, also these things heat so slowly that a preheat is really not needed in my opinion. that being said I once heat treated s7 power hammer dies for a pheonix hammer that weighed at least 15 pounds each with this kiln, worked fine, just took a long time.

Jason - I totally missed the chamber size of the KH vs KF ovens - note to self: Open eyes and read specs!

Stacy - I expect you're pretty close with 30 minutes to move from 1400ºF to 1950 temp.
