How long to grind a blade?

Thanks for the info, guys! :) I tried the two word search at KnifeNetwork and it worked fine. They run version 3.0.5 VBulletin engine versus 3.0.3 here. That may be a factor, or it may just be the way Spark has this place set up. Oh, well. :(

Boy, you 5-minute grinders blow me away! :D It takes me a couple of hours to get a full sized knife ready for HT, but then I take it to almost finished dimension beforehand. Even so, there are a couple of hours after HT for cleanup and finishing...

Looks like I still have a lot to learn! I sure wish I could look over one of you super-grinder's shoulders for a while. ;)

I've learned not to use the search function here too, I seldom get anything useful. Using Google is a great idea though! I'm all over that.

Damn, 5 minutes to do a hollow ground bevel ?

It takes me hours to get my bevelling done, although I guess this is because I use a hand file.

:D yes that will slow you down for sure haha

I use a 60 grit for hogging the hollow and 36 for hogging wood and soft stuff to knock it down to size fast
I don't like the heavier grits for the bevels because I end up messing with the plunge corners being rough and it takes time cleaning it up if it's got grooves in it.

Thanks for all the replies guys!

I did try the search function with just the title and it seems to work better. I guess trying to search through the entire post from all the posts made just overwhelms the server. Thanks for the tip jmxcpter.
