How long to wait

I sold a BM 42 to a member here and shipped it priority mail on the 18th uninsured.
The delivery confirmation still only shows that it was accepted at my PO.
The person there said to give it 14 days to make sure.I am going to call the PO it was shipped to tomarrow to try and find out some more info on it.
I am planning on giveing him a refund but I want to give it enough time so it will not show up a couple days after I give back the cash.
I know I should have insured it but I was talked down on the price a good bit so I was trying to save all I could.

I once had a priority mail package go from Illinois to California take 9 days.

Sometimes it happens.

Always leave insurance up to the person receiving the knife. If they want to save money and not have it insured, then they should accept responsibility if it is lost. Saying that you will pay for shipping when someone purchases a knife from you does not mean that you will also pay for insurance. Even if you have stated that you will pay for insurance, if you have been bargained down then shipping and insurance should no longer be automatically included.

I thought about that but I am not going to leave him hanging if it is lost as shipping wasn't talked about except for me saying "I will take xxx shipped.

Absolutely no need to sweat it yet IMO. The Delivery Confirmation number you are 'tracking' will not be processed at every point as you may already know. And while it is usually a 2-3 day process, a week or more is not at all unheard of for delivery. I have heard some complaints here on the Postal Service, and I am sure SNAFU's do happen, but I use them 100% of the time and with dozens of shipments have never had anything lost.

This one had a happy ending.
I just got an email saying that he got it today.The delivery confirmation was never scaned again after it left my PO.I have been talking to the people at my PO and his every other day for the past week.
