How long?

Traditional Slipjoint Knives, used for knife tasks:

Frost Cutlery: Maybe 6 months to a year.

Rough Rider and above:
Several generations

Lockbacks like the Buck 110/112, Old Timer 7OT, etc:
Several generations.

Note that there are many slipjoints made in the 1800's, owned by Great, Great, Great, Great Grandpa and/or Grandma that are still being used by their descendants.
My four oldest slipjoints range from 103 to 118 years old.
They are all tight with no blade wiggely wobbles, and still have nearly full blades. (not sharpened to a toothpick)

Liner/Frame Locks? I have no idea.
