I never usually buy and EDC knife based on if it's high or low profile. I live in a California city with about 100,000 people.
The smallest knife I currently carry is a Spyderco Native 5, and the largest folder I carry is either the Benchmade 275, ZT 0301, ZT 0560, or the Microtech Select Fire. I have open carried a Becker BK7 before, and I never had a problem with carrying it. There was no reason for me to carry it, but I did and no one seemed to care.
My EDC has no profile requirements. I am a college student, and many people at my college carry knives.
