I was curious if any of us are gun nuts as much as we are knife nuts, or are knives your first and only love?

Thought this would be interesting....

I have always been drawn to both guns and knives, even as a young boy. Now I stay broke keeping up with all my hobbies. Received two knives this week. Opposite ends of the spectrum, the small AG Russell Woodswalker in a Kydex sheath and the other an Ontario RTAK with a 10" blade. Ordered a new Remington 870 combo 20" barrel with rifle sights and it comes with at 26" barrel as well.

Let's see, i would say that first, i was into guns, and had a nice little collection, then i got into knives, and as long as i was buying production stuff, i still had my guns, but, once i got smitten by the high end (read expensive) custom knives, i had to sell off a bunch of my gun collection to pay for the knives, so now im totally into knives, and not as much into guns, though i did keep a few pistols and rifles. I would have to say that i get more satisfaction out of owning a really nice knife, than i ever did with a gun, on the other hand, going to the range and shooting guns is more fun than using a knife. So, i prefer to collect knives, knives offer me more pride of ownership, but i do like to shoot guns, if not really collect them anymore. Who would have thought that collecting knives would cost WAY more than guns?

Oh my god, guns and knives !!! They are worse than a gambling habit .....

Yeah , I am into both . I had guns before knives so I have more custom guns at this point but the knives are staging a fast come back :D .
I have always liked the 1911 pistol so lets see , I have : one Remington, two 40s' colts , 4 series 70 colts, 3 series 80 colts, 1 Henie custom series 70 , 1 custom Novak series 70 , Ed Brown classic , 1 Swenson custom , 2 Wilson customs one from the 1970s' and a full custom classic , Les Baer , Rock River Arms commander , Carter classic , Burns custom commander , 4 Kimbers of various models. I have others but ya get the idea . All together we have 48 1911 pattern pistols , 14 of those are fully engraved and most are blued but some of the newer stuff is stainless .

I also have a soft spot for the Browning P35: 5 of those in various calibers but only 3 of them are custom and two are fully engraved .

A bunch of different shotguns and rifles. The pride of my collection in these would be my Browning Sweet 16 in unfired condition I bought from an Estate in my twenties and my custom Jarret bean field rifle in .270 magnum .

Since my kids have come along my collecting has slowed way down but , I still want at least one custom Double rifle . Well, my wife just walked in and slapped me in the head so I guess that will have to be my little secret when I get it .

Now let's here from you big time collectors as I know that some of you guys have major collections ..

For me it's been guns, knives, flashlights and aircraft, although I've had a heck of a time getting my aircraft collection started..;) I used to be into cars, but that was when they had points (remember the dwell meter)and you didn't need a computer to work on them. Now they are just transportation for me. Wow, did I really say that?

I will always be more of a knife nut than a gun nut but i love to collect and own both.

HI,I prefer knives to guns but over here we have very little choice>trying to gather a gun collection would almost certainly result in a police visit bto check what you were up to

They're the reason I don't buy tons of dvd's and music like "normal" college guys.;)

I'm into both guns and knives. I have nice guns and I have nice knives. I have sold off lots of knives to buy guns but I've never sold off a gun to buy a knife. I kinda feel guilty about having a lot of money tied up in something that doesn't go "bang"!

I've learned to live with strictly what I NEED when it comes to knives. Guns on the other hand, I have some that I really don't NEED for anything...

I'm kind of a newbie in the firearms thingy, but I'm getting there...:)

One thing thou, I like to collect and use knives, but I don't feel like (at least yet) collecting lots of guns... With what I can aquire here, I'd have enough with less than 10 pieces, and we all know that's not even close to enought in terms of knives :D

I've liked guns and knives since I was a little kid. I think it has a lot to do with having a brother who was 9 years older than I. A lot of his interests rubbed off on me in a big way over the years -- though I don't know what turned him onto guns and knives.

He gave me my first BB gun when I was either 8 or 9 years old. It was one of those Marksman repeater pistols that looks like a 1911 style .45. It was spring loaded, and was so weak that you could easily see the BB as it left the muzzle, and you had to arc your trajectory if you wanted the BB to make it across the back yard. :p

The cool thing is, at 31 I still have the thing! Never going to let it go.

My brother also used to give me pocket knives every once in a while. Realize, they were never what any of us would now call "quality" knives, but to a kid in elementary school, they were amazing things to have.

I now own both guns and knives, and they share my passion along with flying discs and flashlights. As far as partiality to either guns or knives, I'd say I can't decide. I would sooner have good guns and so-so knives, because much more is demanded from a gun (for me, anyway). A so-so knife, either in design or in manufacture, will often still cut quite well for you if you put a good edge on it. A so-so firearm can get you killed if it suddenly fails when you desperately need it. On the whole, my modest gun collection trumps my modest knife collection in terms of quality. Glocks and HKs beat Spydercos -- perhaps even Benchmades.

I'm fond of both guns and knives. I keep my collections of both and try to limit myself to items I expect to actually use. :)

My EDCs are an H&K P7 M8 and a Darrel Ralph Madd Maxx 4" Spearpoint Recurve.

Definitely into rifles and my other love is hardcore offroading. Relatively new to knives as a hobby, but I'm sure you guys will coax me into spending money just like in all the other forums :D

I'm in charge of buying/selling/raffeling off all the knives and guns for my gunclub. Tough job, but somebody......:D
