does it take to forge an integral :) ;)? Hell, how many attorneys have an air hammer in their office :)?

Here are a few action shots just for giggles.

You may be the only smith in existance that is wearing a button-down oxford shirt! I thought this might be a joke thread... but since you are yielding hot steel, I'll just say "dang, they look great, and I cannot wait for pics of the finished blades".:D

Good to see you posting... thought you might have bit the proverbial dust!

Glad you're forging... Nice hammer!!!

Is there a dress code for makers visiting your shop??? ;)

Very cool Matt - nice to see you branching out into integrals. I look forward to seeing all three of those completed.

Riad, actually that was casual Saturday evening. I can't remember the last day I took off.

Nick, I'm still alive. I'm working on a production line that has just about killed me.

The steel is 1" w1. I've forged about 12' of it in the last couple days. I really like the way it works, finishes, and performs. Plus, it's readily available.

Matt,

We understand, dress to match that good-looking hammer...

Be sure and post progress pics, those look like some real brutes a'birthing.

I think at this rate, the Dress Code will apply to us collectors!!!!

Nice work Matt! Glad to see you're doing more than Pro Bono work these days!

Good to see you working Matt! Nice hammer and integrals!

Brett

ps The harder you stare the straighter the blade becomes!

Matt you dog!

Sweet hammer! I want to see those knives when they're done. Are you going to Atlanta this year?

good lookin blades Matt, who makes that hammer and is it self contained etc... details please.

Matt wearing a button down while forging...and having a clean white wall with no hanging tools in his workshop. Now that's badass.

Thanks guys!

Derrick, I'll by in Atlanta. I'm already excited.

Matt, the hammer is a Big Blu. It isn't self contained; I have a 7.5hp Ingersoll outside. With the compressor outside and the exhaust vented the hammer doesn't make noise while not in use. Next to my CNC mill the hammer is my best investment.
